PROGRAMMING

Programming involves a minimum of five basic steps: data collection, data analysis, data organization, and development of concepts, communication of data and concepts, and evaluation of the resulting program. JSA will assist and educate clients on the programming process and help them to develop project goals, values and aspirations.

MASTER PLANNING 

Master Planning is a common element of architectural design for organizations or businesses that anticipate growth for their existing site or new facility. Although this type of planning is most often used by institutions anticipating a population growth, it can mean saving time and money for organizations or companies that have space on their site allocated for expansion. JSA is able to develop a multi-phase plan that will allow for continued growth.

SPACE PLANNING  

Space Planning involves the layout of a series of established program elements, which may include pedestrian and vehicular circulation, parking, entries and exits, service areas and other site amenities such as environmental features. JSA plans are designed to fit budgets and the physical constraints of the building and land. Our solutions are developed from both practical and aesthetic points of view.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION

Our firm is highly skilled in all aspects of historic preservation, from research and documentation of historic plans to the development of project themes based on original concepts and ideas. We will also integrate new ideas or renovations to complement existing historic elements.

PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

During the construction stage, JSA experts can provide construction management services including construction technology, constructability, special materials and products, construction market conditions, scheduling, cost, early purchase and long-lead time items, contract packaging and coordination of bidding and negotiations.

COMPLETE DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES

JSA provides many of their clients with design/build services. In this approach, our firm will handle both design and construction, being the "single point" contact on the project, or can join the owner's pre-selected contractor team.

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Maintaining a well-managed and highly efficient facility is critical to success. JSA assists clients in integrating architecture with the principals of business administration and the behavioral and engineering sciences.

SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE/GREEN DESIGN

Employing renewable resources in modern or renovated buildings allows clients to take a leadership role in global environmental conservation. JSA has project expertise in sustainable architecture and green design.

SEISMIC RETROFITTING AND RENOVATIONS

Seismic renovation handles the structural issues of strengthening or retrofitting existing primary structural systems. Structural engineers will develop sophisticated solutions to the retrofitting problem. The JSA team has over twenty years in working with structural engineers in developing creative solutions to seismic renovation and reconstruction that are tailored to the client's individual needs.
